How it all started
I’ve been in corporate, or rather, a 9 to 5 job, pretty much since the day I graduated from high school 20 years ago, and let me tell you, with the integration of generative AI into pretty much every aspect of the workforce, my will to slave my way through life is slowly coming to an end.
Any creative, designer, or developer with a solid background and expertise in their field would resonate with me when I say that corporates forcing employees to use generative AI and ‘prompt’ their way through projects daily is more tedious, frustrating, time consuming, and unrewarding than not using AI at all. But it’s a losing argument at this point and, let’s face it, AI is here to stay and it’s literally everywhere. As in, “AI within AI, within AI”.
A little too much, don’t you think?
While I can agree that the dystopian age we live in has made my life simpler in many ways, like creating spreadsheets quicker than I can think of how many rows I need in my Excel table, or helping me create interior mockups of nearly everything you’ll come to see on this page besides my actual hand drawn artwork, technology is also diminishing and draining the creative mind. My mind.
So, that said, the urge to pick up a pen and doodle has somewhat become second nature to me. At least, that’s how I’d like to think of it.
